Combination Skin

Combination skin requires special care due to its blend of oily and dry patches. The oily patches tend to be in the T-zone. If you are unsure where the oily and dry patches are on your face, press a tissue to your face an hour after washing it. Any greasy patches on the tissue will signify oily areas.

1) Use an oil based eye make-up to clear away eye make-up, which is usually prone to dryness. Dip a cotton bud in the oil based eye make-up remover. Splash cool water afterwards to remove excess oil.

2) In the morning use a foaming facial wash to cleanse your skin. This will ensure the oily areas are clean and help prevent blackheads and blemishes on your nose. Massage the foaming facial wash onto damp skin concentrating on the oily areas. Leave for a few seconds to dissolve dirt then splash with cool water to remove the cleanser.

3) In the evening switch to a cream cleanser, this will ensure the dry areas of your skin are kept clean and soothed. This wllgive you a balance between excess oil and excess dryness. Massge the cream well into your skin concentrating on the dry areas, then gently remove using a cotton pad.

4) To freshen the skin you need two different toners to deal with the differnt areas of the skin. Use a stronger astringent for the oily areas and a mild skin freshener for the dry areas.Use a cotton pad to sweep over the skin.

5) Smooth moisturiser onto your entire skin, concnetrating on the dry areas. Blot off any excess from the oily areas with a tissue. This will give your skin the nourishment it needs.
